ABOUT THE PROJECT DHAMMA DĪPA LIGHT OF WISDOM

The Light of Dhamma

In the Pāli canon, the word Dīpa carries a double meaning: it refers to both a refuge/island and a lamp/light. The Buddha famously urged his disciples: "Atta-dīpā viharatha dhamma-dīpā""Dwell with yourselves as an island, with the Dhamma as your island; with yourselves as a lamp, with the Dhamma as your lamp."

Dhamma Deepa is conceived as a digital lamp of the Dhamma. Our aim is to spread the knowledge of the Buddha's exact, historical words, making them highly accessible through a clean, distraction-free modern editorial interface.

Whether you are an academic researcher, a daily practitioner, or a content creator designing audio-visual stories for YouTube, Dhamma Deepa bridges ancient text with modern media utilities.
